Introduction

VOITAS engineers actively participated in projects related to the development of modern locomotives in Poland. Thanks to the knowledge and experience of our team, it was possible to combine the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as to prepare high-quality technical documentation essential in the design and production process.

Scope of support

Our specialists were responsible for, among others:

  • designing and developing electrical harnesses for railway vehicles,
  • preparing drawings of bent sheet metal parts, milled components, and installation (welding) drawings,
  • integrating electrical and mechanical documentation in line with manufacturers’ requirements and applicable railway standards.

Projects involving engineers from VOITAS

In cooperation with a research institute based in Poznań, our engineers took part in the following projects:

  1. Locomotive 303Ed for Olkol – a modern electric locomotive.
  2. Locomotive 111 DE Gama – dual-power for Pesa – a vehicle combining electric and diesel propulsion.
  3. Locomotive 111 ED – multi-system for Pesa – a locomotive adapted for operation under different power supply systems.
  4. FPS Plus – a modern electric multiple unit designed for regional and suburban passenger service.

Summary

The involvement of VOITAS engineers in locomotive projects for leading rolling stock manufacturers confirms our expertise in combining electrical and mechanical engineering. Our contribution enabled the smooth execution of projects, the delivery of high-quality documentation, and support for manufacturers in the implementation of modern railway solutions.
